A personal journey from medical school, to Indian reservation, to rural Massachusetts, to illustrate the dramatic change in the practice of medicine over the last 50 years. In addition, updates to the collection of medical “malaprops” (amusing play on words). Free copies of the 2005 (now out of print) book Medical Malaprops will be given to attendees.

Dr. David Spiegelman, a local family practice physician for the last 42 years is a 1970 graduate of Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, PA. He practiced for 4 years in the Indian Health Service on the Walker River Indian Reservation in Nevada and in Phoenix, Arizona. He is practicing at the Pepperell Family Practice and is the Medical Director for Nashoba Nursing Service and Hospice.
