TOWN OF GROTON – COVID-19 UPDATE
Governor Baker is lifting the 25% capacity restrictions and returning to 40% capacity effective on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 5:00 a.m. Based on this, the Town of Groton will be ending remote work and all Town employees will return to work at Town Hall on Monday, February 8, 2021 and the Groton Public Library on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. Town Hall will still be closed to the public and we will return to “by appointment” only. Anyone needing services at the Town Hall or the Library should contact department offices and schedule an appointment. The Center in West Groton will continue to be closed until March 1, 2021. Board and Committee meetings will continue to be virtual on zoom for the time being. Once the Governor lifts the state of emergency, the Town will transition back to board and committee meetings in person. Residents can still drop off payments and other correspondence in the “Drop Box” located at the rear of the Town Hall. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we continue to take every precaution to protect our residents and employees while dealing with this Pandemic.
The Town of Groton and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts are taking unprecedented steps in order to reduce the rate of spread by working proactively to reduce transmission and promote public health recommendations. We urge all citizens to exercise appropriate measures in order to reduce the risk of infection.
