Vacancy on the Board of Trustees of the Groton Public Library
The Groton Public Library Board of Trustees seeks a qualified individual to join our dedicated team. Due to a recent resignation, there is an opening for a Groton resident to serve on our six-member board.
The board oversees library operations, establishes policies, and advocates for library services. The Trustees meet monthly on the second Tuesday at 7 p.m. and serve on active subcommittees: Building & Equipment, Budget & Finance, and Policy, Personnel, & Planning.
Interested candidates should send a brief letter expressing their interest in this role and describing their skills and experience to gpltrustees@gpl.org or to the Groton Public Library, c/o the Library Director, by October 8, 2024.
The Trustees will conduct interviews in October, and the vacancy will be filled by a joint majority vote of the Select Board and Board of Library Trustees at an upcoming Select Board meeting. This position would begin immediately upon appointment and run through the Town election in May when they would need to run for re-election.
