Upcoming GDRSD Superintendent Finalist Interview Schedule and Opportunities for Community Participation
If you are not aware, Dr. Laura Chesson, GDRSD Superintendent, will be retiring at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
The GDRSD School Committee voted last night Wednesday, January 10, 2024, to accept four (4) candidates recommended by the Superintendent Search Screening Committee to move forward as finalists in the district’s Superintendent Search.
The screening committee reviewed thirteen (13) applications for the position and recommended the following finalist:
- Geoff Bruno – current Superintendent of Schools, Scarborough, ME
- John Buckey – previous Superintendent of the Marblehead, MA, Public Schools.
- Charles Caliri – current Assistant Superintendent, Ayer Shirley Regional School District, Ayer, MA
- Joanne Menard – current Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, Holliston, MA Public Schools.
The school community will have the opportunity to meet the finalists when the candidates visit the district next week, January 16, 2024 thru the 19th, 2024.
Parents and Community Meet and Greets as well as the School Committee candidate interviews will take place the day the candidate visits. All candidate interviews will be covered live via the Groton Channel.
The visitation and interview dates for each candidate is as follows:
