Newly Adopted Code of Conduct Policy
The Groton Select Board at their meeting held on Monday, August 14, 2023 voted unanimously to adopt a new Code of Conduct Policy. The newly adopted Town Officials, Public Meetings and Visitors Code of Conduct Policy can be found by clicking on the link provided below in this memo and applies to all elected or appointed members of town boards, committees and commissions, public officials, town employees, representatives of the Town and visitors to town owned public buildings and spaces.
Please take some time to review this important policy. It incorporates recent guidance provided to us by our insurance company, MIIA, based on the recent Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Ruling on public comment periods. It also covers conduct on social media, conduct in relation to fellow boards members, conduct within the community when representing the Town and conduct toward town staff.
