The newly formed Town of Groton Taxation Aid Committee is looking for three (3) residents to serve. The Taxation Aid Committee is charged with adopting rules and regulations to carry out the provisions of MGL Chapter 60 §3D and identifying the recipients of such aid for the purpose of defraying the real estate taxes of elderly and disabled persons of low income. The committee will consist of the Treasurer, Chair of the Board of Assessors and three (3) citizens appointed by the Select Board. The fund will be financed by voluntary donations collected as part of the tax collection process and be administered by the Committee.
