TOWN OF GROTON – COVID-19 UPDATE
Due to a potential COVID-19 exposure at the Groton Town Hall and in the abundance of caution, we have closed Town Hall and ordered all employees to work remotely for the next several days. There will be no appointments or services provided at the Town Hall for the next several days. During this closure, Town Hall will be sanitized and all duct work cleaned.
Employees will be working remotely and will be responding to emails and phone messages. Residents can still drop off payments and other correspondence in the “Drop Box” located at the rear of the Town Hall. We anticipate employees returning to the Town Hall on November 23, 2020. We appreciate your patience and cooperation with this change of access as we continue to take every precaution to protect our residents and employees while dealing with this Pandemic.
The Town of Groton and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts are taking unprecedented steps in order to reduce the rate of spread by working proactively to reduce transmission and promote public health recommendations. We urge all citizens to exercise appropriate measures in order to reduce the risk of infection. Additional information regarding risk and containment can be found on the CDC website https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/. Thank you for your immediate attention and cooperation with this. We will continue to update the community as information becomes available. Please keep checking the Town of Groton website and social media outlets for updates as they become available.
Sincerely,
Mark W. Haddad
